Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the results of two different tests: (i) Batch experiment to quantify the sorption potential of flax fibre tows for lead ions from aqueous solution. The influence of contact time, pH, initial concentration, and adsorbent dose on the adsorption process were studied. Results revealed that adsorption rate initially increased rapidly, and the optimal removal efficiency was reached within about 1h. The adsorption isotherms could be fitted well by the Langmuir model.
